Student Visitor Information Counselor
South Cariboo Visitor Centre is looking for passionate outgoing individuals to welcome visitors to 100 Mile House/South Cariboo, assist with travel inquiries, directions, and accommodation & transportation bookings at the South Cariboo Visitor Centre.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Welcome visitors to 100 Mile House/South Cariboo
- Promote local accommodations, activities, and attractions to visitors
- Book accommodation and transportation for visitors
- Handle retail sales
- Encourage visitors to extend their stay
- Answer visitor inquiries in person, on the phone and through email
- Provide accurate community information
- Acquire a sound knowledge of British Columbia’s 6 regions, publications, and programs
- Monitor and maintain brochure racking
- Post current event information of interest in Centre and online
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of Centre
- Other additional administrative duties as required
Job Requirements
- A friendly, outgoing nature, flexible to changes
- Exceptional knowledge of 100 Mile House/South Cariboo and British Columbia
- Excellent communication skills and strong customer service skills
- Fluent in English (a second language is an asset)
- Strong organizational skills, adaptable and a quick learner
- Ability to interact and work well with people from other cultures
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word & Web browsing
- Be available to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and Statutory holidays
